HIAWASSEE CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL CALLED MEETING – November 19th, 2025
The Hiawassee City Council met in a special-called meeting on Wednesday, November 19th, 2025. The meeting was held in the City Council Chambers at City Hall 50 River Street Hiawassee, GA and was called to order by Mayor Jay Chastain at 12 Noon. Present, in addition to the Mayor, were Council members Amy Barrett, Scott Benton, Nancy Noblet, and Patsy Owens. Council member Jonathan Wilson attended by telephone. City Clerk Bonnie Kendrick was also present.
Mayor Jay Chastain gave the invocation, and it was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
Motion to approve the agenda as distributed was made by Council member Nancy Noblet, seconded by Council member Patsy Owens with all in favor.
Motion to approve the GMEBS (Georgia Municipal Employee Benefits System) Health Plan was made by Council member Amy Barrett, seconded by Council member Nancy Noblet, with all in favor.
Motion to approve payment of the PBC loan ($7,232.20) plus principal ($46,626.05) – Total payment $53,858.25 from SPLOST was made by Council member Amy Barrett, seconded by Council member Scott Benton, with all in favor.
There being no need for executive session, motion to adjourn was made by Council member Amy Barrett, seconded by Council member Nancy Noblet, with all in favor. The meeting was adjourned at 12:01pm
