2026-2027 Street Maintenance & Mowing
Request for Proposals

Sealed bids will be received by the City of Hiawassee for services including all materials, labor, tools, equipment, and any other miscellaneous items necessary for the mowing and landscaping of the City property and right of ways. 

Bids will be received at City Hall, 50 River Street Hiawassee, GA 30546 until 2:00 PM on January 21st, 2026.  Any bid received after said time and date will not be considered.  Bids will be opened and read aloud at the above time and location by the Mayor and/or staff. The project will be awarded, if awarded, within 10 days of the bid opening.

Areas to be maintained (mowed, edged & blower):

1.         Hiawassee City Square on a weekly basis on Thursday weather permitting, or on the next day weather permits 

2.         Hiawassee City Hall, 50 River Street, including shrubbery, trees and walkways (Weekly)

3.         Sidewalks fronting Highway 76 running from Monte Alban to Mayor’s Park (Bi-Weekly)

4.         Mayor’s Park  (Bi-Weekly)

5.         City Hall Parking rear parking area including banks, shrubbery, trees and walkways. (Weekly)

6.         Other City owned property, as directed from time to time by the City 

 6. Miscellaneous.

Additional work will be negotiated with and approved by Mayor , prior to any work being done.  Please provide a cost per hour based on work to be performed.  Trimming trees, tree removal, etc.

If awarded, based on a 1-year contract the yearly fee will be paid prorated per month. Term shall begin March 2026 and run thru February 2027. The contract will automatically renew for 1 additional year unless terminated in writing 30 days before end of the first term.  

Each bid must be submitted in a sealed envelope, addressed to the City of Hiawassee.  Each sealed bid must be marked “2026 Landscape Contract Bid – Hiawassee, GA”

Contractor shall maintain liability insurance for the duration of this agreement.  The Contractor shall indemnify the City and hold the City harmless from any claim for injury arising out of the services provided pursuant to this agreement.  Upon being awarded the contract, Contractor will provide a Certificate of Insurance Declaration Page, Workers Comp Certificate of Insurance, W-9, and E-Verify number.
