HIAWASSEE CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
June 4th, 2019

The June 2019 City Council Meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m.in council chambers by Mayor Liz Ordiales.

Present in addition to the Mayor was Council members Amy Barrett, Anne Mitchell, Nancy Noblet, Patsy Owens, and Kris Berrong.  Staff present were Economic Development Director Denise McKay and City Clerk Bonnie Kendrick.

The Invocation was given by Council member Kris Berrong and was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.  The Mayor recognized Joan Crothers, Queen of the Square, and congratulated Council member Patsy Owens and her husband, Larry, who today are celebrating 53 years of marriage.

The motion to adopt the final agenda as distributed was made by Council member Patsy Owens, seconded by Council member Anne Mitchell with all in favor.

There was no old or new business.

The motion to approve the consent agenda was made by Council member Amy Barrett, seconded by Council member Kris Berrong with all in favor. The consent agenda consisted of the March Financials, the April 2ndCity Council Meeting Minutes and the minutes of the May 20thwork session.

The motion to approve the first reading of the Broadband Ready Ordinance was made by Council member Nancy Noblet, seconded by Council member Amy Barrett with all in favor.

The Mayor asked to table the DDA Activation Resolution because the resolution must contain the names of the members serving on the Authority at its creation.  Only Council member Amy Barrett has submitted suggested names.  The DDA requires a commitment for training in addition to the time commitment for serving on the Authority.

There was no need for executive session.

Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Council member Amy Barrett, seconded by Council member Nancy Noblet with all in favor. Meeting adjourned at 6:04.
