HIAWASSEE CITY COUNCIL MINUTES

The October1, 2019City CouncilMeeting was called to orderat 6:00 p.m.in council chambers by Mayor Pro Tem Anne Mitchell.  Present in addition to the Mayor Pro Tem were Council members Patsy Owens, Nancy Noblet, Amy Barrett, and Kris Berrong.  Staff in attendance was City Clerk Bonnie Kendrick.

Mayor Pro Tem Anne Mitchell announced that Mayor Liz Ordiales was unable to attend the meeting because she needed to be in Warner Robbins tomorrow morning at 9:00am for a meeting there.

The Invocation was given by Council member Kris Berrong and was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Mayor Pro Tem Mitchell welcomed guests and wished Joan Crothers a happy birthday – Her birthday was last Monday. 

Motion to adopt final agenda as distributed was made by Council member Patsy Owens, seconded by Council member Nancy Noblet with all in favor.

In Old Business, Mayor Pro Tem Mitchell announced that the Public Hearing and adoption of Millage was held on September 23rd, 2019, 6PM, Millage rate for 2019 has been set to 2.095All forms have been submitted to Tax Commissioners Office.

There was no New Business.

Motions to approve the Consent Agenda, which consisted of the July Financials and the minutes of the September 3rd City Council Meeting and the September 23rd Work session was made by Council member Kris Berrong, seconded by Council member Amy Barrett with all in favor.

The motion to approve the second reading of the UNITI Telecommunication ROW Ordinance was made by Council member Patsy Owens, seconded by Council member Nancy Noblet with all in favor.

The motion to approve the second reading of the Small Cell Ordinance was made by Council member Amy Barrett, seconded by Council member Nancy Noblet with all in favor.

The motion to approve the first reading of the Issuing Agent Ordinance was made by Council member Kris Berrong, seconded by Council member Patsy Owens with all in favor.

The motion to approve the purchase of a computer server to replace the expiring one (not to exceed $8,000.00) was made by Council member Nancy Noblet, seconded by Council member Amy Barrett with all in favor.

The motion to approve the purchase of a dump truck for the Water department (Not to exceed $45,000.00) was made by Council member Patsy Owens, seconded by Council member Amy Barrett, with all in favor.  This is a budgeted purchase – budget was for $50,000.00.

There was no executive session.

Motion to adjourn was made by Council member Kris Berrong, seconded by Council member Nancy Noblet with all in favor.  Meeting adjourned at 6:12pm.
