HIAWASSEE CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
July 6th,  2021

The City of Hiawassee July City Council meeting was called to order at 6:00PM on July 6th, 2021 in the Council Chambers by Mayor Liz Ordiales. The meeting was broadcast over FaceBook Live.

Present in addition to the Mayor were Council members Anne Mitchell, Patsy Owens, Nancy Noblet, Amy Barrett and Jay Chastain.   Staff present were Economic Development Director Denise McKay and City Clerk Bonnie Kendrick. 

Mayor Ordiales welcomed Chad Stack from the Towns County Herald and his fiancé Kinsey Wood. She announced that there are many visitors to Hiawassee this weekend and that the Water Treatment Plant was running 22 hours each day.  

Motion to approve the agenda as distributed was made by Council member Jay Chastain, seconded by Council member Nancy Noblet with all in favor.

There was no Old or New Business.

Motion to approve the consent agenda, which consisted of the minutes from the June 1st, 2021 City Council Meeting, the June 28th, 2021 Work Session, the June 17th Public Hearing for the Planning and Development ordinance amendment was made by Council member Patsy Owens, seconded by Council member Anne Mitchell with all in favor.

Motion to approve Tyler Osborn to the DDA Board of Directors was made by Council member Nancy Noblet, seconded by Council member Jay Chastain with all in favor.

Motion to approve the second reading of the Planning and Development Ordinance amendment was made by Council member Amy Barrett, seconded by Council member Nancy Noblet with all in favor.

There was no need for executive session.

Motion to adjourn was made by Council member Amy Barrett, seconded by Council member Jay Chastain with all in favor.  Meeting adjourned at 6:05pm.
