HIAWASSEE CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
February 1st, 2022

The City of Hiawassee February City Council meeting was called to order at 6PM on February 1st, 2022, in the Council Chambers by Mayor Liz Ordiales. The meeting was open to the public and broadcast over Facebook Live. 

Present in addition to the Mayor, were Council members Jay Chastain, Anne Mitchell, and Nancy Noblet. Council members Amy Barrett and Patsy Owens attended via teleconference. The staff present was City Clerk Bonnie Kendrick. 

The Invocation was given by Mayor Liz and was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.  

Mayor Liz welcomed Michael Coury as our only guest.  The City received sad news today as GMA announced that Gordon Maner, our long-time retreat facilitator passed away this weekend and asked that we all keep his family in our thoughts and prayers. 

Motion to approve the agenda as distributed was made by Councilmember Jay Chastain, seconded by Councilmember Anne Mitchell with all in favor.

There was no old business.

Motion to approve the consent agenda, which consists of the minutes from the December 7th   City Council Meeting (not the 3rd as was on the agenda), the December 14th Special Called Meeting Minutes, the January 4th City Council Minutes and the January 24th City Council Work Session Minutes, was made by Councilmember Patsy Owens, seconded by Councilmember Anne Mitchell with all in favor. 

Motion to approve up to $16,000.00 for replacing the single-pane windows at City Hall was made by Councilmember Jay Chastain, seconded by Councilmember Nancy Noblet with all in favor.

There was no need for an executive session.

Motion to adjourn was made by Councilmember Anne Mitchell, seconded by Councilmember Nancy Noblet with all in favor.  Meeting adjourned at 6:10pm
