The City of Hiawassee City Council will hold a Special Called Meeting at 9:30 a.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers to discuss and vote on a Package Store Moratorium

HIAWASSEE SPECIAL CALLED MEETING MINUTES AUGUST 17th, 2022

The City of Hiawassee Special Called meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor Liz Ordiales at 9:30 a.m. on August 17, 2022.  The meeting was open to the public.

Present in addition to the Mayor were Council members Amy Barrett, Jay Chastain, Anne Mitchell, Nancy Noblet and Patsy Owens.  Staff present was City Clerk Bonnie Kendrick.  The meeting was attended by Mark Smith of the Towns County Herald.

The invocation was given by Council member Anne Mitchell and was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Motion to approve the agenda as distributed was made by Council member Nancy Noblet, seconded by Council Member Amy Barrett with all in favor.

Mayor Liz Ordiales read the Package Store Moratorium Resolution.  Motion to approve the Moratorium for 6 months ( until January 17, 2023 ) was made by Council member Amy Barrett, seconded by Council Member Patsy Owens with all in favor.

There was not need for executive session.

Motion to adjourn was made by Council member Amy Barrett, seconded by Council Member Anne Mitchell with all in favor.  Meeting adjourned at 9:35 a.m.
