    Hiawassee City Council Meeting Minutes February 4th 2025

    - Date & Time: February 4th, 2025, at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers.

    - Attendees: Mayor Pro Tem Jay Chastain Jr, Court Clerk Sheryl Branson, Council members Jonathan Wilson, Amy Barrett, Nancy Noblet. Patsy Owens was absent due to family matters. Police Chief Jeremy Parker was also present.Opening

    - Invocation was given by Council member Nancy Noblet, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

    Agenda Approvals

     Motion to Approve Council Meeting Agenda as distributed: First by Nancy Noblet, seconded by Jonathan Wilson. Approved unanimously.

    -Motion to Approve minutes from the January 7th Work Session and the 2024 October and November financials. First approved by Amy Barrett, seconded by Nancy Noblet. Approved unanimously.Motions to Approve

    - Road Repair Purchases: Approved expenses for road repairs on Highway 76 leak at Sundance Grill- $7384.37 for the steel plates, $350.00- welding, $2006.64 - concrete, $2000.00 for Bill Allen Construction and $7500.00 - Caldwell Paving.

    - Public Hearing for House Bill 581: Scheduled meetings for public hearings.

    - First by Amy Barrett, seconded by Jonathan Wilson. Approved unanimously.

    - Amy would like to get an estimate from auditors.

    - Hotel Motel Tax Bill Wording Correction: First by Amy Barrett, seconded by Nancy Noblet. Approved unanimously.

    - Appointment of Deputy City Clerk: Sheryl Branson, with swearing-in planned for a future meeting.

    - First by Amy Barrett, seconded by Nancy Noblet. Approved unanimously.

    - Will swear in Ethics Board at the same time.Closing
