PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

Wednesday, October 4th, 2023 6PM

The Planning Committee meeting was called to order by Chairperson Nancy Noblet at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, October 4th, 2023.   The meeting was held in the Council Chambers at City Hall 50 River Street, Hiawassee Georgia.

Present in addition to the Chairperson were Committee members Paul Scherer, Matt Espalin, and Jay Chastain.  Committee member Ken Pollard attended via telephone due to illness.

The invocation was given by Chairperson Nancy Noblet and was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.


Motion to approve the agenda as distributed was made by Committee member Jay Chastain, seconded by Committee member Paul Scherer with all in favor.

Motion to approve the minutes of the September 26, 2023 meeting regarding the Commons at Lake Chatuge variance request was made by Committee member Matt Espalin, seconded by Committee member Jay Chastain with all in favor.

Motion to approve the written decision to deny the Tiny South, LLC variance request for the Commons at Lake Chatuge was made by Committee member Jay Chastain, seconded by Committee member Paul Scherer with all in favor.

Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Committee member Jay Chastain, seconded by Committee member Matt Espalin with all in favor.  Meeting adjourned at 6:04pm
